To drive job creation, private-sector economic growth and inward investment into the city. Within the first 100 days, my top five priorities for Allentown are: *To empower and strengthen our community. *To employ stringent debt management and vigorous financial oversight to create savings to advance our progressive agenda to strengthening education, health care and environmental protection. *To spend tax dollars more responsibly and use the savings to protect services for the most vulnerable in our society. *To maintain law and order and provide safety and security to our community and neighborhoods. *To reform our criminal justice system to make it fair and balanced. *To crack down on corruption, crime and drug addiction. *To make housing more affordable to accommodate all residents of the city. *To improve service delivery while rehabilitating our crumbling infrastructure. *To provide better education to our children, who are the future leaders of tomorrow. I have no doubt in my mind that many have the same feeling as I do, that beneath our feet lies a well of untapped potential that can only be harnessed through strong, dedicated and visionary leadership. Over the last few months, I have spent a lot of time pounding the pavement, knocking on doors, making phone calls, having fireside chats and talking to ordinary people of this beautiful city. This city requires someone who exhibits strong leadership and has the moral fortitude to rise above petty partisan bickering, brinkmanship and obstruction, and who in the process can position Allentown to take on the mantle of the rising star city. I’m running for mayor because we can only become and continue to be a great city by bringing about real and positive change and progress for all Allentonians. I have been involved in politics for the past 15 years. I am a businessman who has been serving the Allentown community with tax preparation services for the past 20 years. I was born in Zimbabwe and migrated to the U.S. As a loyal and diehard citizen of Allentown, I want to be the champion for what is best for this incredible and great city and to see us develop, grow and prosper. 7, Allentown will be confronted with the inevitable task of choosing a leader as its next mayor to guide it through the next four years.
